Occupational Health for Employers and Their Employees

As the provider of choice for more than 3,000 Lane County businesses, Cascade Health’s Occupational Health program is dedicated to helping Eugene and Springfield area employers keep their employees working, safely and in good health.

Occupational health focuses on the physical, mental and social well-being of workers, and we partner with businesses to develop customized, practical solutions that improve workers’ quality of life.

Productivity and Fiscal Costs of Workplace Injury

In 2020, work-related deaths and injuries in the United States had an economic cost of approximately $163.8 billion.

About 99 million days of work were lost due to work-related injuries in 2020.

How to Improve Costs and Productivity — and Keep Employees Safer

Cascade Occupational Health services include screening, preventive care, acute treatment and rehabilitative services to reduce employer costs associated with substance abuse and workplace injuries. For example:

  • Each employee with an untreated substance abuse disorder costs their employer an average of $8,817 annually. Drug screening can eliminate costly mistakes in hiring and identify employees who need interventional help early.

  • Our Mobile Health program can “treat and release” about 40 percent of injuries at the worksite, avoiding lost work time, recordable injury reports and worker’s compensation claims.

  • Pre-placement and return-to-work exams prevent injuries by ensuring employees aren’t put in jobs they don’t have the capacity to do safely.

  • Simple screenings can help identify and mitigate potentially serious health issues early, resulting in lower health care costs for employees and employers.

We offer excellent injury care and handle most of the workers’ compensation paperwork to make things easier on you and your employees.

Testimonials

  • King Estate

Cascade Occupational Health is absolutely critical to our business. For us, they provide excellent screening and testing for everything from Department of Transportation Medical Certification to fittings for respirator use and everything in between. The doctors at Cascade Health know that helping employees return to work as soon as possible, even if on modified duty, benefits the worker just as much as the employer.

The longer an employee is off work, the more expensive the claim becomes. Providing us the tools to supply our employees with excellent medical care and follow-up treatment is a win-win! The physicians make personal phone calls to make sure we understand a worker’s restrictions or to verify test results while still maintaining professional privacy standards. Whether at their location in Eugene or somewhere on our 1,000-acre estate, we can depend on the results we get from Cascade Health.

  • Lane Forest Products

Cascade Health provides a variety of services for Lane Forest Products. They are our chosen provider for drug screens, medical card exams and other work-related medical evaluations. Scheduling an appointment is simple, and they work around our needs. We always receive a follow-up call with the results of any tests, as well as written confirmation in the mail.

Cascade Health also provides us with Mobile Health services. Their medical professionals perform onsite drug screens, medical evaluations, first aid and, if appropriate, transport to urgent care. We know we can rely on their expertise in these situations.

From the appointment schedulers and administrative team to the doctors and other medical staff, Cascade Health’s personnel are pleasant, responsive and professional. We are grateful for our long-standing relationship with them.

  • Dari Mart

I have worked with Cascade Mobile Health for many years, and I don’t know what we would do without them. As first aid providers, they have saved our company thousands of dollars in workers’ comp claims by evaluating employees’ injuries and administering first aid, instead of the employee having to go to the ER. When called to administer first aid, evaluate an injury or perform a drug/alcohol test, the responders are very professional, well trained and treat our employees with dignity and respect. At every loss-control meeting I attend, it is always a pleasure to talk about Mobile Health, the services they provide and the value they provide us. Keep up the great work and thank you!
