Both you and your employees benefit when health risks are identified early. It gives your workers an opportunity to address concerns before they develop into full-blown conditions — and the better able they are to make healthy lifestyle changes, the less they’ll miss work due to poor health. Plus, a healthier workforce can also translate to lower health insurance premiums and fewer on-the-job injuries.

Biometric screening is a combination of measurements and tests that together form a snapshot of your employees’ health. Screenings can happen at the Cascade Health clinic or as on onsite health day at your business. Biometric screening isn’t a substitute for a full annual physical exam, but it can be a useful tool to alert your staff to health-related risk factors for conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease. The screening measures:

  • Height, weight and waist

  • Body mass index (BMI)

  • Blood pressure and pulse

  • Cholesterol and triglycerides

  • Blood sugar

Vaccinations keep your employees healthy wherever they go. Cascade Occupational Health offers walk-in flu shots throughout the fall and winter, hosts periodic Covid-19 vaccine clinics and can come to your business to get as many of your employees inoculated with as little disruption to the workday as possible. We also have a full Travel Health department that will build custom panels of itinerary-specific vaccines for those traveling outside the U.S. — even hard-to-find vaccines like Yellow Fever.

Diabetes is a serious illness that contributes to increased absenteeism, lost productivity and employer health care-related costs. More than 1 in 3 adults in the U.S. have prediabetes, a serious condition that puts people at risk of developing type 2 diabetes, heart disease and stroke. Our certified diabetes and nutrition educators provide health coaching to help employees identify prediabetes and make lifestyle changes to prevent type 2 diabetes, and self-management education for employees who are already diabetic.
