The Impact of Your Gift

Many of our patients and their families come to us at an extremely stressful and frightening time in their lives: when a new diagnosis necessitates changing the way they’ve always done things. When an injury takes away their ability to leave the house. When a serious illness has started to decrease their quality of life. Or when they receive a prognosis of six months or less to live.

At each of these moments, Cascade Health is there to provide critical medical care and emotional and spiritual support. And we couldn’t do it without your help.

Our Funding Priorities

Our purpose has always been to improve the quality of life in our community by filling the gaps in local health care options. And although all our services are covered at least partially by insurance, we strongly believe that everyone deserves the care they need; not just the care insurance is willing to cover.

Your gift to the Cascade Health Foundation makes it possible for us to spend necessary time with patients in some of life’s most difficult situations; to provide much-needed education and help to families; and to provide a reprieve from the physical symptoms of life-limiting illness to enable patients and their families to accomplish important goals at the end of life.

Our funding priorities are:

Pete Moore Hospice House (highest priority)

Our foundation’s primary focus is raising funds to support Pete Moore Hospice House. The only hospice house in Lane County, it wraps residents and their families in a serene, home-like environment where they receive compassionate, hospital-quality end-of-life care and the space and support to find meaning and comfort in the final phase of life.

Because insurance does not fully cover the costs of operating the hospice house, we could not keep the doors open without the generosity of the community we serve. When you give today, you ensure that our professional nursing staff, social workers and bereavement specialists can continue to provide physical, emotional and spiritual support to patients and families who depend upon us during a time of great need.

“My beautiful husband was at the Pete Moore Hospice House. He received the most excellent care from each and every professional there! I have bragged about the compassion and care they provided. They are truly the very best!”

Home Hospice

Home hospice care encircles patients and their families with a team of dedicated professionals and volunteers to manage symptoms, provide support and improve quality of life – all while allowing people to stay in the comfort of their own homes.

Donations ensure that patients and families have 24/7 access to nursing assistance, grief and bereavement counseling, support groups, spiritual support and alternative comfort care measures such as massage, aroma therapy, music, art and pet therapy to make people’s remaining days as comfortable and peaceful as possible.

Diabetes & Nutrition Education

Our Diabetes & Nutrition Education programs teach patients critical disease and diet management skills to help them achieve the highest level of wellness and prevent complications.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you! I can’t begin to say that enough. When I first was diagnosed, I felt hopeless and thought my life was going to end. Instead, I’ve learned to be positive. I felt supported with the education classes and this program. I can do this. I feel empowered. Again, thank you!”
