Leftover Treats Add Up

Who isn’t tempted by a little fun-sized trick-o-treating candy? From the tiny Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups to the Snickers bar you can wrap your hand around; there are Halloween candy jars everywhere these days!

At Cascade Diabetes and Nutrition Education, we teach that balance, moderation and variety are key to keeping blood sugars (and weight) under good management. That means there usually is a little room for the occasional treat! Remember, though, that these little indulgences add up — just because they’re small doesn’t mean they are calorie-free… and most of them have between 10-20 g carbs.
