Shopping for groceries with Type 2 Diabetes
Did you know that Wednesday is a good day to shop for groceries? Stores are less crowded and some stores mark their prices down mid-week too.*
Go to the store when you are “full” and less likely to be tempted to over-shop.
Make a list and don’t stray far from it. You’ll save both money and unneeded calories!
Before you go through check-out, think about one “healthy” food that you want to try that you don’t usually get. It might be almonds, sunflower seeds, or blackberries. Add that one item to your cart.
When you get home, put “good for you” foods out in plain view for easy grazing. We tend to eat what we see. Praise yourself for a job well-done!
