Job Summary: Responsible for the daily operations of the Occupational Health department, including planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating direct and indirect patient care. Develops and manages departmental budget. Tracks, manages, and oversees clinical activities documented in electronic medical record, assuring overall quality. Maintains a high level of professional expertise and assumes responsibility for personal and departmental professional growth of this diverse department. Provides leadership for all Occupational Health team members including clerical and clinical staff. Understands and complies with applicable accreditation & regulatory requirements governing Occupational Health. May require delivery of patient care based on clinic flow and staffing needs. This position requires proof of full COVID-19 vaccination at time of offer.

Education & License Requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience. Current Oregon licensure as a Registered Nurse preferred. COHN certification preferred.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in a medical clinic setting, with two years of leadership/management experience required. Desired skills include: Clinical excellence, leadership abilities, teaching competency, critical thinking, and excellent communication skills. In-depth knowledge of the workers’ compensation system, OSHA and Department of Transportation guidelines preferred. Supportive of the philosophies of Cascade Health and Occupational Health Services. Pleasant, professional, confident demeanor, with an ability to work as a member of a team.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain knowledge base of current occupational health industry practices.
  • Organize, prioritize, and delegate routinely and in crisis.
  • Serve as a resource to staff, assessing performance and learning needs, providing feedback.
  • Manage departmental operations in a fiscally responsible manner, supporting staff with cost-containment.
  • Assess routine and emergent clinic operational patient care needs to assure needed resources for quality outcomes are in place.
  • Hire, orient, train, coach, counsel, evaluate, and terminate staff.
  • Assure compliance with regulations and contracts, while managing the day-to-day clinical operations.
  • Promote full-spectrum occupational health services to prospective clients, negotiating contracts.
  • Maintain positive client company relationships, emphasizing integration of services across the continuum.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution, peer communication, and assure an exceptional customer experience.
  • Participate in conferences, meetings, and in-services.
  • Create and update policies and procedures.
  • Complete work assignments and projects in a creative, competent manner.
  • Work independently, with effective time management, problem resolution, and sound judgment.
  • Utilize effective communication skills: verbal, written, electronic.
